When looking for sources it is a good idea to take an extra look at them to make sure they are written by scholarly authors and are credible. A good way to determine this is to do an analyses of them. Ask questions about the credibility of the author and what their goals are for the article they wrote. You will also need to make sure that you site the source so you can use it in the essay you right. Take for example the annotated bibliographies I have made with these five sources.
Fletcher,
Ben C. "What Your Clothes Might Be Saying About You." Psychology
Today. N.p., 20 Apr. 2013. Web. 5 Nov. 2013.
This article is a
credible source for my research because it comes from Psychology Today which is
a magazine that is also published online.
The author’s credentials include a doctorate in Experimental Psychology
at Oxford University. This article was
published in Psychology Today on 20 April 2013.
The author’s main goal in this article is to inform about the way people
think about other people’s clothing styles and how they view themselves. The publishing source for this article
generally targets an audience that fits the following description: a person who
has some idea of what psychology is and people who are interested in what
people think about what people think about others in their clothes. This audience would be interested in this
subject because the author is sharing about what other people think and backing
up his information with studies he conducted and would generally agree with
this author’s perspective on the topic.
The author incorporates the following types of evidence: studies and
research. This evidence builds credibility
because there are other people that can back it up but is also limited because
he does not have quotes from other people to bring in a different insight. Based on my own opinion, experiences, and
research, I agree with this author because his research seems logical and insightful. I think this article is important to include
in my essay because it shows the other side of what people think about other
people are wearing and not just the personality style of a person.
Hareli,
Shlomo, Shlomo David, and Ursula Hess. Competent and Warm but Unemotional: The
Influence of Occupational Stereotypes on the Attribution of Emotions. New York:
Pringer Science+Business Media, 2013. Print.
This article is a
credible source for my research because it was published online. The article was published in 2013

article is to inform about the information they found and present it. The publishing source for this article
generally targets an audience that fits the following description: have a
willing mind to learn and have some greater knowledge of psychology than the
normal person. This audience would be
interested in this subject because it has information backed up by a study that
was conducted so the information is more credible and would generally agree
with this author’s perspective on the topic.
The author incorporates evidence from the study that they
conducted. This evidence builds
credibility because it backs up what they found with factual information but is
also limited because it only focuses on one topic. Based on my own opinion, experiences, and
research, I agree with this author because I see myself making stereotypes like
the people in the article. I think this
article is important to include in my essay because it shows not only what
other people think of other people’s clothes but how they see stereotypes.
Larson,
Knute. HOLMAN New Testament Commentary. Nashville: Broadman & Holman, 2000.
Print.
This
article is a credible source for my research because it came from the logos
software and because it was a published book.
I could not find the author’s credentials because they do not show them
but LOGOS would not use a source if it was not credible. This article was published in 2009. The author’s main goal is to inform or teach
about what God would have us wearing.
The publishing source for this article generally targets an audience
that fits the following description: willing to learn about how God wants them
to dress, not just what they feel like they should. This audience would be interested in this
subject because it helps them to lead a life pleasing to God and would
generally agree with this author’s perspective on this topic. The author incorporates the following types
of evidence: biblical, compares the American culture, and his own
opinions. This evidence builds
credibility because it relates to life but is also limited because there are no
other people being quoted besides the Bible.
Based on my own opinion, experiences, and research, I agree with this
author because it is biblical information.
I think this article is important to include in my essay because it
would bring an important biblical aspect to my essay.

position at Louisville University. The article
was published in the Journal of Popular Culture in spring of 2001. The author’s main goal in this article is to

The publishing source for this article generally targets an audience
that fits the following description: into fashion and as a sense of fashion. This audience would be interested in this
subject because it could help them to be aware of what is changing in society
and would generally agree with this author’s perspective on the topic. The author incorporates the following type of
evidence: quotes of other people and has other sources incorporated into the
essay. This evidence builds credibility
because it has information to back it up but is limited because it does not
have any studies conducted. Based on my
own opinions, experiences, and research, I agree with this author because
clothing styles are changing and because of that so does a person’s clothing
personality. I think this article is
important to include in my essay because it will help explain why people change
their clothing personalities.

types of evidence: charts and quotes. This
evidence guilds credibility because it helps the reader to understand more
clearly with the help of the charts but is limited because the reader might not
be able to understand the charts if they have limited knowledge. Based on my own opinion, experiences, and
research, I agree with this author because the evidence provided is
understandable and clear to me. I think
this article is important to include because it would give a new insight on the
teenager side of my essay.
